Celestion Ditton 15 Studio Monitor Speakers. Legendary British Quality. The Celestion Ditton 15 vintage speakers were introduced in 1966. The Ditton 15 was the biggest selling bookshelf loudspeaker of its time. It produce good quality sound and bass response. The first thing you'll notice is their unrestricted bass output, they just seem to go down and sound round. The bigger the room the deeper the bass and I think 30hz or more but handling the deepness rather than just coping like most modern speakers do. The treble is smooth but not warm rolling off at 16k and sounds lacking at first until your ears adjust then they just sound like tweeters and well blended with the woofer too. I couldn't believe that 30 watts @ 8 ohms were the actual rating , their sound just seems to fill the room with ease.
Genuine classic Celestion Ditton 15, 2-way, 2-driver speakers with passive radiator in very good condition, with all drivers and crossovers in perfect original condition, with both logos present on the grilles. Velvet-like three-dimensional rich life-like deep sound. High end quality on the budget. Speakers like these made today will cost you upward of $1000. Very hard to find a pair like this. Play like new, no issues. Good amplification with at least 40 wpc rms is a must. Will work best with 70-120 wpc DC power amplifier. Yes, I know they have 30 watts continuous rating, but then they also push sound pressure level of 100 dB at 10 watts input (for comparison, a jet taking off produces 125 dB SPL). Celestion 15 feature 8 inch woofers and stand 21 inch tall; rated impedance is 4-8 Ohms with rated continuous input power 30 Watts RMS and max power handling of 50 Watts RMS. These are very high quality speakers for a serious audiophile.
Condition....................................8 / 10 (Very Good condition) only slight nicks on the walnut veneer cabinets, Circa 1976 in perfect working condition. Asking $125.00 for the pair or best offer.
